LA
DOLZA PETTING ZOO
A farm with an ancient agricultural tradition, La Dolza is situated
at the foot of the Trevisan Prealps, in the centre of the VALSANA
valley that reaches all the way from Vittorio Veneto to Combai,
encompassing the golden Prosecco vineyards. The estate is actually
located at the base of the castle of the Brandolini D'Adda family,
the site of many historical battles.
Indeed, in the silence it is said that the screams of soldiers and
villagers defending the castle from foreign invaders can still be
heard.
La
Dolza Farm has now been transformed into a peaceful, relaxing farm
holiday complex, where guests can spend unforgettable nights at
the fireside as they await their spit-roasted dinner.
La Dolza also has a PETTING ZOO that is perfect for young and old
alike. The zoo offers a range of trails.
TRAILS:
TRODO
DELL'ORT (GARDEN TRAIL): from medical herbs to fruit and vegetables.
A visit to the vegetable garden, giving you the chance to see for
yourself traditional and hi-tech cultivation systems being used,
including a trip through the greenhouses and a look at the reproduction
of terrace flowers.
TRODO
DEI CAVAI (HORSE TRAIL): stables and horses.
Demonstration of a gentle horse training technique whereby the horse
is made aware of the trainer's love and respect. The technique is
based on distancing the trainer from the horse, in the hope that
the horse will then approach the trainer of its own volition. This
is the same practice employed by ancient peoples who loved their
horses. There is also a demonstration of how to wash, saddle and
look after horses, and an explanation of the various pieces of equipment
used.
Young children are encouraged to make their first approaches to
horses, petting and stroking them to become familiar with them.
Level I 'equitourism' certificates can be issued. More

'TRODI
E CAVEDIN': hillwalking, visits to monuments, lakes, mountain
paths - on foot, on horseback or by mountain bike.
You will have the opportunity to visit the area accompanied by experts,
who will be on hand to give you clear explanations about the various
cultures that have made this area their home, looking for example
at current chestnut trees and vineyards and comparing them with
the remains of ancient olive groves. Leaving from the farm and taking
the Via Imperiale Claudia Augusta Altinate, an ancient Roman road,
up to an altitude of 1000m, within 2 hours you will reach the Praderadego
Pass, a tourist area in the mountains with stunning views across
the Province of Belluno. Praderadego was the traditional intersection
of the three diocese of Treviso, Belluno and Vittorio Veneto. You
can then carry on up towards the alpine summer houses, making your
way through pastureland, with mountain flowers, trees and mushrooms
wherever you look. You can also visit the nearby Brandolini Castle,
Follina Abbey (with its Cistercian cloister), the Temple of the
Madonna of Caravaggio and the War Museum.
I
hope this programme of activities proves attractive and interesting
to all those who want to enjoy a form of tourism that safeguards
the traditions of this wonderful valley.
